STOP EATING MEAT that is factory farmed and transported miles before it is slaughtered. Instead change to organic food which comes from a farm that cares for its animals from birth through to humane slaughter and preferably one that transports families of animals together and not very far! Have we learned nothing from this dreadful outbreak of foot and mouth? It appears not. Farmers are being compensated. Dreadful stories abound of evil people selling diseased animals to farms so that they too can claim massive compensation. What is more terrible is that this disease spread so quickly because animals were being cruelly transported miles for slaughter. Animals are sensitive creatures with highly developed intuitive senses. They KNOW they are going to some dreadful fate. Families are separated, they are herded into trucks where they can hardly move and made to suffer the most horrible indignities in the last days of their life. Animals treated in this way have vulnerable and poor immune systems. They are open to dis-ease. STOP the transport of animals. Write to your MP. Protest at your local supermarket and ask them to supply organically reared meat that is slaughtered locally.
